Lee County, Florida is a community that maintains its natural beauty while creating a flourishing environment for businesses. Within Lee County, there are currently some 492,210 residents, whose median age is forty-five years old. Of working-age residents, twenty-eight percent are employed in the service industry. The second largest employment sector in Lee County is professional services, with around sixteen percent working in this field. Twelve percent of locals here are employed in a managerial capacity.

Lee County has done such a tremendous job in both attracting new residents and new businesses to the area, but also in managing the new growth. In fact, the Milken Institute named the Fort Myers - Cape Coral area Number One on its list "Best Performing Cities: Where America's Jobs are Created." Lee County has been recognized has having one of the top five telecommunications infrastructures the nation.
